Website updates within three months of each other? What on earth is going on?
Well I'm glad to say I've completed another little mini-project. I've written my own little global illumination ray tracer! Lots of fun to make, and I learned loads in the process. I've written up some results so why no pop over to my
graphics section and have a quick read?
Nine months
have past which means an update was due! I've recently
(finally!) completed a little Renderman personal project
and have attempted to write it up in the
graphics
section of my site. For people in the know it
may not seem like much but I found it fun! Take a
peek!
To start off the productive new year, I've added a new 'Graphics' section to my website! Check out the link above! I've put four little things on there already, and hope to add more in the near future. They were all written in between 2002 and 2010, and are essentially just 'code doodles' written in Java!
You'll notice that there's a Mandelbrot
fractal in there as well. Originally I wrote this
in javascript with an aim to have the thing accessible
to absolutely anyone (sorry Java). Alas, I wasn't
happy with the results it was giving me (inconsistant
number-handling across different browsers... it was weird).
Given the circumstances I decided to give
Processing
a go!
Processing
turned out to be pretty cool. It's essentially a load
of extra libraries for Java and a decent development
environment. All it does is make life very easy for
prototyping graphicy ideas. I recommend you check
it out, it's friendly and (very importantly) the documentation's
great.
I finally finished my "Dollar Koi Fish" as designed by Won Park. Take a peek in the 'Artwork' section!
Added a new
painting to the 'Artwork' section! Also trying to work out exactly what I'd need to do to set up some sort of photoblog. Much reading ahead...
I've just added
an 'Artwork' section to my site, check the menu up
the top! Whenever I've felt creative enough to throw
paint on canvas, these have been the results.
I'm also planning to add some photography, graphics work and maybe even some codey stuff... It'll take time, but I'll get there!
So I've finally re-designed my site!
Yes! It's actually happened! For the first time in six
years!!! Not only has there been a re-design, but I've
been wanting to make the content more relevant to what
I do now (rather than having it filled with ancient
shockwave work!)
It'll be big haul, but I'll be adding
to it whenever I can! For now, take a peek at my latest
showreel, and check back soon for more!
